I am low on rears, but have a shitload of fronts. Everything from Maxxis Slicks (Soft) to Dunlop rains, Dunlop road race hand grooved slicks (lightly used), Pilot Power Ones and a few others. I am back in town tonight, so step up and get in line. Shout out to reserve something, show up and take what you need, or let me know and I can set something aside. I do have a Maxxis rain rear 160 like the one on my DRZ right now (awesome street / fun day track tire) and some other rear. I'll have to go and look again. But, most are front Maxxis Softs in 17''.screwtape wrote:Got any sets with a 17in front??

I feel sorta responsible for getting some of these guys so deep into the whole thing, so the least I can do if I can't join you at the moment on track, is to try and keep you guys going.
I still have the Soft Maxxis slicks, and a matched set of used, but good Maxxis Presa Rains that still have lots of life left in them. You would be surprised at how well they work. I've used them on the street and several tracks and they do very well. Especially if it has a legit dirt section where slicks get coated like powdered donuts and can't really get up to full temp.

Im think Im going back to Canyons. Today was mind blowing!!!! You can't see what's around the bend but you still have to be able to setup and execute at a moment's notice! I also forgot how low you have to pitch the thing when you're not leg out. It also showed me some really bad habits I picked up at the track with my braking.

Its cool. LittleMonsterRacer just came by and picked up what was left to give away, other than the 16.5.
I thought you went to the track to learn and polish good habits, not develop new, bad ones.

Re: FREE RACE TIRES to our members
I picked up a different riding style all together. Leg out, leaning the bike over, pressing down on the outside pegs, outside hip shifted forward on the shrouds, super hard and late on the brakes. Also on the gas hard while shifting weight to the rear coming out of turns. If I did that on canyons. I'd end up on my face.
In the canyons it's very quick and smooth transitions as there's more bumps to upset the bike. You also have to setup your turning blind. Which means getting closer to the yellow then going outside to middle and setup for inside in case you need it. In canyons I find that being central or hanging off and leaning with the bike. Along with progressive throttle application is what turns the bike smoothly, precisely, and safely. Unlike a track. Where you can setup seconds ahead and just all out be as aggressive as your tires and suspension will allow.
I've been told that if I could transition my speed from the canyons onto the track. That I would be a pretty fast. Unfortunately, the straight line speeds trump my gains in the corners. So Im left eating dust. Not like it's any different on canyons but it's more apparent on the track.
