THE Tour
I am watching some of this year's Tour basically because France is interesting to look at. But, as I was watching I admit to thinking that, although Lance Armstrong, was a cheat, and a liar, and hurt others, the race was a lot more entertaining, or perhaps, exciting, when he was doing his thing than it is these days. But, the scenery has been very pretty this year as they have green plants and trees and old castles and all sorts of stuff that one never sees out in the desert, so I sort of watch the racing even though I have no idea who is who. I never have really understood pro bicycle racing anyway. It seems that they hang around in a giant group for a lot of miles, and then, they race for the final 500 meters. They do the same thing at the velodrome as well, since they stand on their pedals and cruise until into the bell lap. I know about the velodrome since I went to some races at the outdoor velodrome down in the Sepulveda flood basin (I do not know if it still exists?). But, I never was able to appreciate the strategy aspects of it all. Talk about sandbaggers and bracket racers.....

Re: THE Tour
You should see the French countryside whipping by at 150 MPH out the window of the Eurostar train
