2017 NBA Playoffs

Post by jhwalker »

Could be some upsets... Clips lose, Toronto lose -- see how the 1st round first couple of games play out. How did Portland play down to an 8th seed?

14 days later
Game 7 Clips v Utah.
Tight game -- Utah is suddenly 11 up in the 2nd Quarter. No bueno.

Es OK, because the winner plays the Warriors, who are currently feeling all rested up and in the need of a new victim. Still, only 32 points in the first half by the Clippers did set some new record for second quarter points by a team that was still on the court. Utah is the more disciplined team for sure.....

But, being a Clipper fan means watching the end of their season, painful as it generally is. And, at this point, during half time, there is still a chance of divine intervention, as it were. Not, as I said, that it makes much difference because the Warriors have owned the Clippers for years....

And, I forgot to mention it is farewell to The Truth, but, truth to be told, if he were all that, then he should go Joe Johnson on Utah in the second half.

Lousy for the most part, thus far. Lots of typical NBA traveling and palming and carrying the ball and holding and pushing. Not everything gets called, and, at times, the calls appear uneven as the refs ignore, and/or, miss stuff, and delays involving refs are too many and too long. There have been relatively few close contests thus far, and, the best teams are not even working to smash the lower seeded teams.

I have not been able to sit through many complete game since the Clippers ate it, and now, aged Tony Parker, is out, so the Spurs, who are another favorite of mine style and coaching wise, would appear to be toast. All I know is that apparently the NBA has the correct formula as an entertainment, but, what they play is not really basketball.

I also had to come back and edit this to wish one and all happy cinco de drinko. I will be busy putting the sand bags up, as the happy shooting won't start until later, and I did pick up some salsa and chips and nacho cheese so that I would have something to go with my Margaritas later as I will be up late due to all the parties with loud music and big fireworks (or guns) exploding from the surrounding hood. A good day to lay low, as there will definitely be some drinking happening today, and the streets may get a bit wild later....

Funny, but as a kid, we all used to say the cinco de mayo was a celebration of the release of the new Chevy, and we all thought that was the truth. But now, some say that it is an actual holiday in Mexico. Who would have guessed?
