Re: 5 Jeep Rubicon Moab Wheels and Tires
Just because I am too lazy to look it up, but what size are the tires, and what is the lug nut pattern?
...just for shits and giggles, wondering what they would look like on a Ram1500 Quad Cab Pick Up.

They are 17x7.5 5x5 wheels and the tires are BF Goodrich LT255/75R17 chunky looking things. At least I think that is what they are since I am not into trucks and off road stuff at all, not even a little bit.Brakelate wrote:Just because I am too lazy to look it up, but what size are the tires, and what is the lug nut pattern?

Not sure they would fit due to your lug nuts (these wheels are five lug)
People do put these wheels and tires on V6 Grand Cherokees. They won't fit on V8 Grand Cherokee models because the calipers are larger on those models and these wheels won't clear them.

Re: 5 Jeep Rubicon Moab Wheels and Tires
Yeah, I know what the BFG Mud Terrains are. I just wasn't sure what a "Moab Edition" wheel looked like, it's size or pattern.
Being only a half ton, the truck runs five lugs, but I believe it is the larger pattern. It currently rolls on 20" wheels with 275/60-20 tires which I think are just shy of 32" tall and about 10.5" wide, but those are optional. I believe 17" wheels would fit, if they are of the correct offset, lug pattern etc. as they are the "base" trim level offering, at least in previous years.
Just curious. Sounds like the lug pattern is off, and they would be a tish narrow for the truck. It just got me thinking that maybe we could both benefit from this, as my tires are about done.

Here is an image as to what the 2012 Jeep Rubicon wheels look like. They are darker shade then the 2011 wheels.
Not sure where you are located but if you wanted to see if they fit you can come by and we can try. (EDIT: Pattern appears to be different)

Re: 5 Jeep Rubicon Moab Wheels and Tires
Here is a link to the specs on the wheels.
The model designator is JK for these wheels.
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge- ... ations.htm
Model Year Whl Size Metric Lug Inches Stud Size Bore Offset
Wrangler JK 07-UP 17"&18" 5x127mm 5x5in 1/2x20 71.5 M/H
I think your Ram is 5x5.5 inch pattern or 5 on 139.7mm

Re: 5 Jeep Rubicon Moab Wheels and Tires
LOVE the BFG's, just am thinking the lug and tire sizes are a bit small.
I tossed the street friendly GoodYears that came on it and went with the most aggressive M/T type tire I could find at the time. But, even just a few years ago, tire choices were really limited to pimp road rubber in that size wheel. In the following four or five years, there are a few more options out there, but they are very expensive. I prefer the taller sidewall of a smaller diameter wheel combo anyway. If it were MY truck, I would have beefed it up a bit, and even considered going with a steel 17" wheel or similar, which would really open up my tire options and be more functional.
Since the wife drives it primarily, and it sees mostly surface street use, the quiet running, longer lasting street tires and big chrome wheel looks were retained.
But, as the truck ages, I am more comfortable with taking it out and letting it collect the regular scratches and dings associated with real 'wheeling. So, maybe it is time for a change.
I will have to look up the trucks official wheel / lug spacing specs.

Re: 5 Jeep Rubicon Moab Wheels and Tires
Hell, I would like to try these more on my Samurai. But, cash is tight at the moment.
It runs 30x11.50-15's Super Swamper Bias Ply's on Black Steelies at the moment. It runs the typical Ford 5x114 pattern, but requires the larger inner diameter hole for the front locking hubs.
I should take a moment to look at the Dodge's pattern - But, I am busy trying to keep my post count up with you and Tetge! Dammnit. That seems more important at the moment for some reason.
