Willow drags August 24th at 6pm.

Post by racebronco2 »

Just wondering who's going this time around. I am making a few changes ( anyone who knows me already knows that ), thinking about bringing out my NTO1's. I will be going to a slightly softer spring rates front and rear. Just trying to get down into the 9's again.

I will no doubt skip this one as well. I have decided that I need a bit more performance to enjoy running WIllow so, there is no sense in returning during hot weather as I already have an extremely consistent set of time slips from WIllow for the new car covering a number of visits. I know what I need to do to improve my results, and, running in the hot part of the season is not on the list.

Wish my clutch was in better shape. I woulda driven the 500 miles to run that Orange thing.

Guess I'll go to Rob's BD party instead. But you all are invited to that as well.

Sorry Carlos. I will not make this one either.

Good luck chasing the 9's if you do go.

So, now that it is confirmed that no real fast guys are going (other than Diablito obviously), is it now the time where I can start talking smack about how I would have kicked everyone's butt's ? :banana-ninja:

The cars are getting faster out there. A pro street Nova has the record 9.3xx at 117mpn. I think there were only two other cars that ran that fast. A 54 (?) Ford with some small tire 225's (?) running 9.80's. There were a handful of mustangs running mid 10's. I was running 10.40's, all my reaction times were in the .600's with one in the .800's

I noticed that the cars were getting quicker and faster, as well. I guess that any old strip is better than none at all? But, with the single beam staging light system, getting a good RT is not easy since you can't just barely turn the light on and have a bit of roll out before you trip the second beam, as you can with a real staging light system. 10.4's are also ET's. but, since you can trap over 115, I have to assume that you still have traction issues. Those fast cars are set up for drag racing and they are not really street driven machines, so it doesn't make sense to compare a street driven car to them. Most of us could go straight over to the Streets of Willow and circulate fairly well but, I don't think that any of them could.
