Good Event for a great cause Sept 19
My wife, Terri, and I are still sponsoring a little charity golf tournament -- her dad started it 32 years ago and when he died unexpectedly 16 years ago we decided to keep it going in his memory, and now also in her mom's memory. http://www.ecf.net/golf
It is hard to get folks to take a day away from work, even for a good cause. I have some openings for folks to play "sponsored". ie free, with a round of golf at a nice course, a good dinner, and the ability to buy $1 raffle tickets for some great prizes.
You, your father, your mother, your father(mother)-in-law (you know you could use some points...), someone whom you owe a favor -- tell him/her about this and have him/her come on out for a fun afternoon/evening for a great cause.
I will post up a little more. I am checking on how many I can sponsor...

The event is a "best ball" event, so a person does not have to worry about screwing up.

The event is tomorrow. I picked up Terri last night at LAX as she returned from a week of work in Cincinnati O, and we will spend today going over event details and volunteer staffing. It is what it is, but nice to avoid surprises tomorrow. Ended up with 72 golfers and 25 volunteers. Knock on wood, we will deliver a decent check to the Exceptional Childrens Foundation.

We delivered a net of $60,000 to ECF, the charity. Fun event, you guys or your friends/relatives would have had a good time. Next year ?

Re: Good Event for a great cause October 14 2016
Thanks, Ron. that was 2014. I lost the 2015 tourney thread. Happens a lot right now. Last year we had our best fund-raising effort ever netting $85,000 to ECF. A lot of folks helped, including John. 2016 will be tougher. We lost some big sponsors (management changes at donating companies...) and replacing them is always tough. This year, the event is October 14. http://www.ecf.net/donate/events/ Toni and Dale Fukamaki are Terri's deceased parents. If you owe a relative or friend a favor, I have a couple of tickets available. Talk to me privately. It is a fun day. And a good cause. Somewhat like the SPF Hastings event, I am using this golf event as motivation for 5 more months of stroke rehab. I plan to play this year. What could go wrongSVTRonDogg wrote:Nice job.

I'll be there, with my daughter too, she's a good player, so put her with the group you want to win

Folks I still have two open spots for the Friday Oct 14 Event. They are covered by our sponsorship. (we will find some way to pull some money for the charity ) You can play on a decent course, maybe win prizes, eat well -- for a good cause.jhwalker wrote:Thanks, Ron. that was 2014. PM me or ask any questions here. This is event year 34, and the older I get the harder it gets to promote/manage this from Mexico (the strokes did not help )
We think that we will wrap it up next year with #35. Terri has been working with, and raising funds for ECF since age 15.

With carpal tunnel surgery two weeks ago, I'm out but I txt'd my daughter to see if she can get the day off; she recently had to use up a lot of sick/vacation time so I dunno.
