In typical Extreme Speed fashion, the results for the final session of our Group were not posted at the event nor online.
My emails certainly don't get replied to...

Re: Extreme Speed - Autoclub Speedway November 22/23
Finally got the results for all my sessions. I was not moving the fastest I could have that day, I know I was leaving a lot of time on the table in some spots, especially turns 2 and 3. Carlos rode with me on the Lead Follow lap since his car was down, but I made sure he spent more time with Steve in his GT500 that day since he was a first timer. He rode with Steve 2 or 3 sessions I believe and cut out. So I did not have any direct instruction that day. I know it would have been pretty helpful. YOU OWE ME CARLOS
On my own, I managed to whittle my time down session by session, and even ran some very consistent laps along the way (traffic dependent):
Session 1: Lead Follow
Session 2: Best Lap 02:20.208
Session 3: Best Lap 02:13.001
Lap 3: 02:13.068
Lap 4: 02:13.057
Lap 5: 02:13.001
Session 4: Best Lap 02:12.775
Session 5: Best Lap 02:11.082
Lap 2: 02:11.082
Lap 3: 02:11.961
In comparison, Steve in his GT500 on 20" wheels cut his times down drastically with a little help from EL DIABLO:
Session 2: 02:15.951
Session 3: 02:11.021
Session 4: 02:03.956
Session 5: 02:03.303

Good shots. Good work. I have a couple of pics that I will post one of these nights. Life has been a bit chaotic for the past 4-5 days, including researching and pulling the trigger on the VMP (first things first ).

Mazda had some sweet vintage racers out there doing demo laps that day. Had a 1990 LeMans car and a 1992 IMSA GTP car amongst some old RX7s. Here's a quick clip I took:

Ohhh, Man. The RDogg/Brakelate Team in the DSG could have handled those too! Arghhhh! Wish I were there. Looks like fun. Amazing, those tires! I recall how many hard sessions they have seen already over the years on the various WSIR courses. Air up the fronts a little more next time to center the wear away from the shoulders, and they will last as long as the rears, with just a little more howling from pushing in the tight stuff. But, that's ok.

So this is where some of you SoCal terminator track day aficionados landed eh?
I realize this is an older thread, but for those that remember my build thread on the old dead site, you missed the track day debut of v3.0 of my Camaro by one day! I was there on Sunday. Nothing like testing the new car on a new to me track as high speed as the Fontana roval!
So for everyone that was left in suspense here is the Camaro running the roval.
Not bad IMO for a rusty driver and new build.
Are folks still running track days regularly? I just did SOWS two saturdays in a row. FYI SOWS = Lakes of Willow Springs a week ago and Sands of Willow Springs this past Saturday...

Don't know about the resolution of your video but I like the picture in picture. Did you let that ricer by just so they could run some cones over and then get slaughtered by you due to their lack of power and handling? Your car also sounds good, even if it as Chevy. Good to see that all that struggle to get it done paid off.

Very nice! Glad to see you finally enjoying your baby. If I remember correctly, you went through a helluva time getting it all dialed in, including dealing with a shop that didn't get things right the first time.
