I am still waiting to see what happened to my car. I waited a full two weeks for an initial appointment at the dealership to access the damage, and the car was towed to the dealership Tues., but, in spite of being told that they would examine it ASAP, at the time of the appointment, this is not happening.

So, if a a 2017, with 6000 total miles on the ODO, happens to have an early mechanical failure, it now appears that getting it fixed can be a lengthy process. And, in spite of having a KTM, I have not yet used the motorcycle, even as transportation, as it has rained, and, also, it is darned cold out. As well, for some reason, the design of the KTM is not grocery shopping friendly. My brother, who rides his bicycle to work across town each day, says that an average backpack can hold a lot of groceries, so, that will be something new for me to experience, but, also, my brother says that in addition to his backpack, he also gets a plastic bag and puts groceries in it too, and hangs it over his handlebar, and rides one handed. He acknowledged that this would not work on a motorcycle, but, back in the day, I used to put paper bags of groceries on the seat in front of me and hold them in place with my legs and also by putting the bag under a shirt. This can work for short distances, but, paper bags worked best as plastic bags do not hold their shape well, so they do not sit up as straight and secure as paper bags, and, plastic is slippery.

So, cold and holiday traffic and all would still preclude my getting to Fillmore. And, the odds are that there will be no miracle fix for my car, and it is very likely to be next year before I ever see it again. To say that I am very impressed with the alleged bumper to bumper new car Ford warranty, is an understatement. But, one really has few options when dealing with large institutionalized businesses, and, also, with franchised dealerships, as Ford has limited control over the dealerships.

So, I need to determine if frozen pizza's fit in my backpack, and, if so, how many I can get in there while leaving room for some Ben&Jerry's ice cream as well?

Backpack works and I hang bags from the handle bars too.
Not to mention the old between the legs on top of the tank trick.
They sell paper bags at the grocery stores; the greenies demand it.
For tank top transport, I put a paper bag inside a plastic bag and then paper bag is less likely to tear.

Back in the past, when I rode, I used to shop frequently when on my motorcycle and carry significant quantities of groceries home, using the paper bag and between the knees technique. But, that was back in the day, when I was more agile and rode all the time. And, the bikes were easier to get on and off of since the 690 Duke is a very tall motorcycle, and, I always struggle to kick my leg over the high seat and get on the bike. This would automatically make hoisting a paper bag of groceries up onto the seat, more difficult, so the backpack is almost a necessity, but, my ancient old backpack will swallow a 2.5 gallon water container, so all is good, as that is the largest item that I need to resupply. Now all I have to do is suit up and go shopping using the backpack. This will call for adjustments, almost like moving into one of those tiny houses, but, I am currently saving on both food expenses and fuel, so, it is not all bad.

I better get used to it, as it has already been 20 days since the car croaked, and, it most likely will be many more weeks before the dealership ever gets to my car, and, Ford, and the internet, seem to be saying that this is SOP.
