The Cobra is on track duty. Need to test the temperatures with the Whipple setup and see if I need to make any adjustments to the cooling setup. I've also never tested the new KMember. Delrin bushings up front with the front tires pushed 1.5" forward between the K and the A-Arms. Handles great on the street.

Also, I want to kill these 6 year old Goodyear tires and Hawk street pads.

At least one of the sons and I will come out early tomorrow and experience the thrills, ecstasy, and sometimes agony of tracking -- vicariously. Look forward to seeing you guys, getting some cool pictures, a little vid, and seeing and hearing these beasties run... We will look for you early and if can't find you, we will call. This will be the first time at a track since early 2010

Ryan and I rolled out early. Things have changed since I last attended an event. Wow! Cars I have never seen before. And a TON of participants. And some cars I HAVE seen before. Ron's Terminator looks like a new car. No, actually better than a new car. Carlos's Orange beast looks very race-ready. We did not stay a long time as being at a track event without a car to track SUCKS!!!!!!!!! Good to see you guys.

Great to see The Walkers out and about yesterday. Sorry you didn't stick around longer.

The day was a solid success for Steve in his GT500 and myself. We both made some solid cuts to our lap times session my session, but I think overall he was outlapping me. I need some further coaching to get my confidence up leaving and entering the bank. Results from the last session weren't posted when we left, hopefully they'll be online shortly.

Carlos ran into an engine problem and had to put it back on the trailer after the first session, hopefully he's up and running again shortly.

Got some great GoPro vids, including quite a few oh shit moments. Even when I lose it, the Cobra setup makes it easy to wrangle it back in smoothly. Hopefully the audio came out decent. Even with the helmet on, running the bank at 140 at WOT sounded like SEX in the Cobra. There and coming up under the pedestrian bridge. More to follow in the next few days...

I should have stayed around, it would have been fun to watch. Next time I will try to show with a car. Looking forward to the vids. I think Fontana is a unique experience. I liked, in theory, the changes they said they have made to the entry to the track and the exit from the track. How were they in reality? The last time I ran there, there was the possibility of cars entering the track blending too quickly with cars at speed.

Good sound and good looking video from the new camera. Of course, youtube converts your video to their format, so, I know that the original looks even better. I also like the POV that you used, as it lets the viewer see more or less what the driver is seeing. Your car also sounds very smooth and seems to run right along so it appears that your mods worked.

I hit Costco for some provisions today and they had Hero3+ Black cameras with two batteries and a charger for $349.99. They also had 64 GB class 10 micro SD cards that showed a pic of the GoPro on their card for $48.99. It seemed like a great deal but, I had watched the video link on this thread and so knew the the Hero4 Silver was only $50 more, and an extra battery would be only a bit over $20. The Hero 4 Silver is a better camera in every aspect and it also has the LCD screen, so it was a no brainer to pass on the "deal" at Costco.

That said, I was an early adapter and on the waiting list for one of the original GoPro's. I updated to the first HD camera and, when that broke, I got the next HD Hero, which I still have. By the time I got the last camera, I was not too happy with GoPro for a variety of reasons. The first was that they were the masters of churning and cameras hardly were introduced before they were completely obsolete. My first HD cam failed because the SD card no longer could be read by the camera. This was because I took the card in and out of the camera a lot to read it with a card reader since it read a lot quicker in the card reader than it did when left in the camera. It turns out that the SD slot in the HD camera was not very robust. When I spoke to GoPro about this, they stated that I was out of warranty and that the cameras could not be repaired as they were basically throw away cameras. I only got a new Hero HD cam because I still wanted to shoot video and I had a lot of mounts and batteries and such. When I got the new camera, I also picked up a 16GB Transcend SD card that was optimized for cameras. But, it didn't work in the GoPro, although it worked everywhere else. When questioned, GoPro stated that it was obvious that Transcend did not adhere to the industry standards, as their camera was perfect.

Since then, GoPro has continued to churn out new products, and, the cameras have continued to get more expensive. It is true that the cameras have evolved to have more features and to have better audio and video, but, they also are nmo longer inexpensive. So, I have resolved to continue using my old HD Hero and to abstain from buying any new GoPro stuff. I have four batteries and the pack that lets me run two batteries and a large capacity SD card and lots of mounting hardware, and, I can edit the output using MS's LiveMovieMaker, just fine.

Still I am thankful that the link to the Hero 4 was posted since, had I not been educated, I might have weakened and got the new Hero3+ Black edition just for the remote control feature and for the higher 1080p resolution.
