Our larger dog, Precious, is dead -- doing her job. Very sad. The other dog is missing.
Little of value taken -- but the act was potentially violent.
We chose to live in the country.
no bueno

Sorry to hear, James. Though it sounds like it could've been worse, still terrible news. May Precious rest in peace. Hopefully the other one just got scared, and will come back.

Re: Back in the USA!!!!!
I reviewed the trip notes. Some were too stoopit to post, but here comes the others. . past San Luis Potosi, we drove thru a valley of giant yuccas. Mile after mile, up to 25 feet tall, multiple heads -- beautiful'
2. Low air pressure warning came on. I checked the tires, all cool to the touch. Then a tire pressure sensor fault message let me know I'd be checking them the rest of the trip...
3. There were at least 10 trucks for every car on the road.
4. We saw a truck wreck on the other side of the divided hgy. The backup was 20 miles.
5. Mexico is beautiful.
6. The ride North is great.
7. The Sierra Madre mountains a huge.
8. At the border in Laredo, we covered 4 miles in 4 hours.
9. Ho ho ho hold your speed down Santa is watching
10. San Antonio freeway infrastructure is impressive.
11. We see personal trucks towing a truck towing a truck, sometimes with an ATV in the back of each truck. ?texas trailer?
12. 38 degrees Friday
13. New Mexico is boring. Saw our first woman semi driver -- big forearms, tats
14. New Mexico has a bunch of elaborate dust storm warnings, instructions.
15 Politeness -- everywhere. Drivers, Gas stations, restaurants. Everyone considerate and friendly. Helpful. God bless the USA...
16. Have seen 5 Raptors -- highest number of any 'exotic' vehicle. Can't miss them, they just have that certain look closing on you. Still like them, but Ford should make a Ranger Raptor -- they are too big for Mexico roads...
17. Saw 1 PT Cruiser and 1 Pontiac Vibe
18. Dodges seem to run in groups. A Ram truck and a Challenger were often together
19. Arizona -- prettier than New Mexico
20. In California -- many worthless government subsidized wind farms, bullshit
21. Fontana(fontucky) -- see the first motorcycles of the trip ???
22. Los Angeles is a beautiful mess. So much money, so much misery.
23. The downtown Soc Sec, Admin office is a vision of hell. God bless the patience of the workers.
24. the DMV office downtown has its act together. Brought the Escape back to operating status, transferred it to a relative in an hour.
Heading home tomorrow. The USA is a great place to visit, but it will be good to be home..

Haven't seen a good post since George's Psycho Mamma saga. Was waiting for a post on the banditos, but, no such saga yet.
Still, if it were a home invasion, that was a good time to be traveling and, you already indicated that no one was harmed.

Re: Back in the USA!!!!!
We are at LAX -- waiting for a 12:50 flight back home. We will arrive at BJX (Leon) around 6am, KNOCK ON Wood, and get home by 8-8:30.
Talk with the staff, play bills, and experience Terri's first retired day in Mexico.
Schedule break-in repairs as required, discuss security changes and get'em going. For the general info, as soon as I understand exactly what/how the 'event' occurred, I will share...
We wanted to try to see the LASpeedGarage friends this trip but were consumed by BS.
We will be back late April for Ryan and Brooke's wedding.
We may have already visited Japan & China before Ryan's wedding, and that will do it for the serious travel for 2018.
rock and roll.
